Here is a summary of the engineering continuing education requirements mandated by the New Mexico State Board of Licensure for Professional Engineers and Professional Surveyors. Continuing Education or PDH is known as Continuing Professional Development (CPD) in New Mexico.

Renewal period | Biennial, Dec 31st of odd years for engineers with license numbers ending in odd numbers and Dec 31st of even numbers for engineers with license numbers ending in even numbers. |
Provider approval | The Board does not pre-approve course providers. |
Course content approval | Any program with a clear purpose and objective which will maintain, improve or expand the skills and knowledge relevant to the licensee's field of practice. Subject matter which is technical in nature or addresses, professional ethics, quality assurance, codes or other similar topics which facilitate the licensee's professional development as a professional engineer and serves to safeguard life, health and welfare. At least 4 PDH in Ethics must be taken by engineers every renewal period. |

Online courses | Accepted, there is no limit on the number of online courses taken. |
